Maïté dedicates her practice to periodontology, with a particular focus on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and the supporting tissues of the teeth.
She has been practising at Centre Messidor in Brussels for more than ten years, where she treats patients with periodontal disease, from initial therapy through to the long-term management of more complex cases.
Preserving natural teeth for the long term
The primary goal of periodontology is to preserve natural teeth by maintaining healthy and stable supporting tissues over time.
Treatment begins with a thorough diagnosis of periodontal disease and the identification of its risk factors. It then combines treatment, prevention and patient support to control inflammation and achieve long-term periodontal stability.
When required, Maïté also performs periodontal surgical procedures to treat more advanced lesions and restore conditions that are favourable for preserving natural teeth.
An essential part of periodontal care is supportive periodontal maintenance. Following the active phase of treatment, regular, individualised follow-up appointments help maintain stable results and reduce the risk of disease recurrence.
Periodontal expertise integrated into implant treatment
Maïté has also completed a postgraduate qualification in implant dentistry. Although she has chosen to focus her clinical practice exclusively on periodontology and does not place dental implants herself, this training enables her to fully integrate implant-related considerations into the care of her patients.
Healthy gums and adequate bone support are essential before, during and after implant treatment.
At Centre Messidor, she is involved in the periodontal preparation of patients prior to implant therapy, as well as in their long-term maintenance and the prevention of peri-implant diseases.
More than ten years at Centre Messidor
Having been part of Centre Messidor for more than a decade, Maïté plays an active role in its multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Working closely with specialists in implant dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics and restorative dentistry allows periodontal health to be fully integrated into complex treatment plans and ensures continuity of care throughout every stage of treatment.
She also works in close collaboration with the referring dentists who entrust their patients to Centre Messidor, with the aim of returning them with a stable periodontal condition and an appropriate long-term maintenance programme.

Periodontal diseases are often chronic conditions, and successful treatment depends not only on the care provided in the practice but also on the patient's understanding and commitment.
Maïté therefore places great importance on listening, patient education and ongoing support. Her goal is for every patient to understand their condition, the reasons behind the proposed treatment and the important role they play in maintaining their periodontal health.
